Re: Introduction Email

2016-04-29 1:38 GMT+02:00 Drew Meigs <dmeigs@openmailbox.org>:
Hi, everyone. My name is Drew and I am relatively new to Fedora, but not
to Linux (I have been working with Debia-based systems for the better
part of 10 years). I have a little experience with websites, but I think
I would still be a good fit with this group. I have some working
knowledge of HTML and a little of XML. Also, I am a fast study. I would
very much like to get involved with the website team. I am trying to do
some work with groups like CommOps and the Docs team, but I feel like I
would also really like to work on the website.

I look forward to working with you all.

Drew

Hi Drew,
nice you are interested in helping us.
The best starting point would be our join page [1], where you should follow the points step by step. Python skills are welcome, because the sites are build with Html/CSS and the Genshi framework for internationalization. It would be a good idea taking a look at the bootstrap grid [2], because there are many divs and classes in our source files. Finally, to get started, you need: * to clone our repo. See [3] and join the web FAS group. * start working on tickets, see easyfix [4] at the beginning or our Trac [5]. You can send your patches there. Please ask if you have any doubts, writing to the websites Mailing List or on IRC channel #fedora-websites, located on the freenode server. [1] https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Websites/Join [2] http://getbootstrap.com/css/ [3] http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_fix_bugs_on_the_Fedora_Project_website [4] http://fedoraproject.org/easyfix/#fedora-websites [5] https://fedorahosted.org/fedora-websites/report/1
Kind regards.
