That is part of why its still "unsupported", the platform is still a bit
unstable in many ways. The slow boot is likely the same as this problem:
https://github.com/raspberrypi/firmware/issues/1619
which should really be titled "GET_CLOCK behavior change causing
problems everywhere". There are various less than ideal workarounds at
this point, but for most users the best plan is probably to just revert
to an older firmware that works as expected.
Particularly for this problem, it would be useful if you mentioned the
uboot version your getting from Fedrora, as AFAIK pbrobinson pushed a
workaround to uboot that should make it better.
