Hei everyone,
My name is Arvind (arvindfroi). I'm Norwegian and I've been doing a fair bit of open source translation lately, so I figured it was about time I said hello here properly instead of just lurking around Weblat
Hello Arvind,
welcome and happy translating.
I recently sat down and finished the Norwegian Bokmål translation for systemd - all 285 strings - and honestly I had a good time doing it, so I'd like to keep going. There's a lot more I can pick up across the core stuff (Anaconda, dnf and friends), and I'd also like to help keep the Norwegian we already have from going stale.
I see Kjartan is the coordinator for Norwegian, and I don't want to step on any toes - he's been doing this far longer than me. I'd just like to actually pull my weight. If it's possible to get added to the Norwegian team as a reviewer so I can approve and fix things directly rather than only leaving suggestions, that would make a real difference. Totally fine to start small and earn it.
Unfortunately, your translations seems to get lost while we were trying to solve a conflict in Weblate. May I ask you to upload your translations once more?
I do not think Norwegian team has a review workflow set, so let's see if the upload will be used as suggestions again this time. Also I am not able to find your FAS name (arvindfroi) in Fedora Accounts. Perhaps make sure your account is fully activated.
One thing I want to be upfront about: I do use AI as a drafting tool, but I'm a native speaker and I read and fix everything myself before it goes anywhere - I'm not in the business of dumping machine output on anyone. Happy to work however the team prefers.
Yes, please. Your approach to the use of AI seems to be aligned with AI-Assisted Contributions Policy[1], so just make sure anytime that you comply with it. ;)
Anyway, that's me. Looking forward to helping out.
Arvind
